Y.E. Yang, Richard Green and Robert Karlsson share the first-round lead at 6-under 64, one stroke ahead of Thongchai Jaidee, Tim O'Neal and Steven Alker, who are tied for fourth at 5-under 65 after the first round of the inaugural Jefferson Lehigh Valley Classic presented by Sodexo.

Y.E. Yang, 32-32 – 64 (-6)

  • The 54-year-old made seven birdies (Nos. 2, 6, 8, 9, 11, 12, 15) against one bogey (No. 3) to be the first man in the clubhouse at 6-under
  • This marks the second time in his last two starts the 2009 PGA Champion led/co-led after the first round; opened with 64 at the PURE Insurance Championship two weeks ago (finished sixth)
  • Best finish in 21 starts this season was P2 at the Rogers Charity Classic, where he closed with a bogey-free 63 and fell to Steven Alker on the first playoff hole (No. 18)

  • The 55-year-old seeks his second career PGA Tour Champions victory in his 96th start (lone victory: 2025 Rogers Charity Classic)
  • Second time this season leading/co-leading after the first round (co-led with Rob Labritz after an opening 63 at the 2026 Rogers Charity Classic)
  • Has six top-10 finishes in 18 starts this season, including a runner-up finish at the 2026 Principal Charity Classic (won by Zach Johnson)
  • Hit 17 of 18 greens on Friday, the solo leader in GIR for the field
  • Ranks fourth on Tour for the season in Greens in Regulation Percentage

Robert Karlsson, 31-33 – 64 (-6)

  • Posted seven birdies (Nos. 1, 2, 4, 6, 11, 13, 14) to just one bogey (No. 15) on Friday in the final group of the day to join the leaders at 6-under
  • The 57-year-old seeks his first win on PGA Tour Champions (131st career start on PGA Tour Champions; owns six runners-up finishes)
  • First time this season leading/co-leading after the first round; the 64 is his low round of 2026 (previous: 65, Rogers Charity Classic, second round)
  • Coming off a T7 at the PURE Insurance Championship two weeks ago; has two top-10 finishes (also T6, Principal Charity Classic) in 17 starts this season and entered the week ranked No. 58 in the Charles Schwab Cup standings
  • Won 11 times on the DP World Tour and claimed the 2008 Order of Merit; played on the 2006 and 2008 European Ryder Cup teams

Other notes

  • Tim O'Neal (T4) was bogey-free through 16 holes before a bogey on the par-4 17th knocked him back to a 65. The 53-year-old seeks his first win on PGA Tour Champions and has four top-10 finishes in 22 starts this season.
  • Thongchai Jaidee (T4) made seven birdies against two bogeys to card a 5-under 65. The two-time PGA Tour Champions winner (2022 American Family Insurance Championship; 2023 PURE Insurance Championship) owns three top-10 finishes in 17 starts this season.
  • No. 3 in the Charles Schwab Cup, Steven Alker (T4) birdied Nos. 17 and 18 for a 65. Alker has finished first or second in each of his last three starts.
    • Alker has now been inside the top five after 11 of his last 13 rounds, including six rounds in a row.
  • Tommy Gainey (T7) played the back nine in 5-under 30, the low nine-hole score of the day, after turning in 1-over 36.
  • Michael Block (T7) holed out for eagle 2 at the 346-yard, par-4 5th, one of the three eagles made in Friday’s first round, in a 66. The Arroyo Trabuco head professional, playing on a sponsor exemption, has three top-10 finishes in six starts this season (best finish: T3, Ally Challenge).
  • Dicky Pride (T7), the 2026 DICK’S Open champion, and Ricardo Gonzales (T7) each opened with a bogey-free 66.
  • Steve Flesch withdrew after 11 holes.
