Korn Ferry Tour winner Cole Sherwood on earning 2027 PGA Tour status

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – The PGA Tour announced Saturday that Cole Sherwood achieved TourBound status, officially securing one of the 20 PGA Tour cards for the 2027 season available via the Korn Ferry Tour with a made cut at this week’s Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship.
Sherwood becomes the sixth player declared TourBound, following Ross Steelman, Doc Redman, Ian Holt, Alistair Docherty and Alvaro Ortiz.
The 24-year-old Sherwood earned his first Korn Ferry Tour title in May at the 2026 Colonial Life Charity Classic. Roughly one month later, Sherwood posted a runner-up finish at the 2026 Memorial Health Championship presented by LRS. Since his win, the Vanderbilt University alum has stood no lower than No. 6 on the 2026 Korn Ferry Tour Points List.
Sherwood, who plays from Austin, Texas, finished No. 7 in the 2024 PGA TOUR University Ranking after four seasons at Vanderbilt (2020-24), where he earned three individual victories, as well as All-America honors in 2022 (First Team) and 2024 (Second Team).
In his first full season as a professional, Sherwood finished No. 41 on the 2025 Korn Ferry Tour Points List as he earned full status for the 2026 season. Sherwood’s 2025 season featured a pair of top-five finishes – T2 at the 118 Visa Argentina Open presented by Macro, and T3 at the Club Car Championship at The Landings Golf & Athletic Club.
Sherwood has two career starts on the PGA Tour to date, having made appearances at the 2024 John Deere Classic and 2024 Procore Championship. The final round of the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship, the second of four season-ending Korn Ferry Tour Finals events, will air Sunday on Golf Channel, with telecast coverage from 3-6 p.m. ET.
