The PGA TOUR announced the final standings of the 2023 PGA TOUR Charity Challenge, a season-long fantasy-style competition benefiting local tournament charities. The Korn Ferry Tour’s Visit Knoxville Open finished second overall, only behind the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard on the PGA TOUR.

The Visit Knoxville Open, played annually at Holston Hills Country Club in Knoxville, Tennessee, selected the Boys and Girls Club of the Tennessee Valley as the charitable beneficiary of an $80,000 award that will go towards the continued support and empowerment of all young people to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.

“We are very excited to add $80,000 to the Boys and Girls Club of the Tennessee Valley in addition to the funds that they receive from the Visit Knoxville Open,” said tournament director Patrick Nichol. “These funds will continue to enhance the programs available to the kids that the Boys and Girls Club serves. We had a group of eight that selected one player from the various categories available. It is probably one of the best programs the PGA TOUR has introduced, keeping everyone following the players for the entire season.

“A special thanks to Jon Rahm, Rory McIlroy, Tom Kim, Tommy Fleetwood, Scottie Scheffler, Lee Hodges, Beau Hossler and Maverick McNealy,” said Nichol. “Your play this year significantly impacted the Boys and Girls Club of the Tennessee Valley.”

During the 2022-23 PGA TOUR season, as part of the PGA TOUR Charity Challenge, host organizations across the PGA TOUR, Korn Ferry Tour and PGA TOUR Champions had the opportunity to select a local charitable beneficiary with specific programs and services that address diversity, equity and inclusion in underserved or underrepresented communities.

Every week, the amount of FedExCup points each tournament’s eight-player fantasy-style roster earned was totaled, and the team with the highest total each week won a $5,000 contribution to its charitable beneficiary. Each team’s FedExCup points were counted throughout the 2022-23 PGA TOUR season, and the team with the highest accumulation of points after the BMW Championship was crowned the season-long winner, earning the top prize of $100,000 for its charitable partner.

This season, all 93 host organizations across the Korn Ferry Tour, PGA TOUR and PGA TOUR Champions engaged in an exciting competition on behalf of deserving charities.

Following the conclusion of the 2023 PGA TOUR Charity Challenge, which carries a total prize fund of $1 million, Korn Ferry Tour events combined to earn $265,000 that will be donated back to each tournament’s selected charity.
