Season Recap
2020 Season
Became one of only nine players to qualify for the FedExCup Playoffs in each of the first 14 seasons of the FedExCup era but failed to advance to the BMW Championship for the first time in his career, finishing the season No. 75 in the FedExCup standings. Was the only player to qualify for every BMW Championship from 2007 through 2019. With his first top-10 of the season at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am (3rd), became the third player in PGA TOUR history with at least one top-10 in 30 consecutive seasons, joining Sam Snead and Raymond Floyd. Made the cut in nine of 16 starts, highlighted by a T2 at the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational. Recorded three top-25 finishes, his fewest in a season since turning professional in 1992.
AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am
Finished third in his title defense at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, his 10th top-three result in 24 starts at the event.
Charles Schwab Series at Ozarks National
Won the Charles Schwab Series at Ozarks National, becoming the 20th player to win his PGA TOUR Champions debut. Became the fourth player to win his debut by at least four shots and the fourth to win his debut wire-to-wire. 191 total marked the second 54-hole score of 191 or better in PGA TOUR Champions history. Opened with a 10-under 61, becoming the first player to shoot a sub-62 score in his first career round on PGA TOUR Champions.
Dominion Energy Charity Classic
Defeated Mike Weir by three strokes for his second victory in his second PGA TOUR Champions start at the Dominion Energy Charity Classic. Became the third player to win his first two starts joining Jim Furyk and Bruce Fleisher.
Travelers Championship
Held the 36-hole lead at the Travelers Championship before finishing T24. Opened with two consecutive scores of 64 or better (64-63) for the first time in his career. Held his 35th career 36-hole lead/co-lead (fell to 18-for-35) and first since the 2019 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
World Golf Championships-FedEx St. Jude Invitational
With a T2 at the World Golf Championships-FedEx St. Jude Invitational, became the first player age 50 or older to finish runner-up on TOUR since Vijay Singh at the 2016 Quicken Loans National. Marked the 37th second-place finish of his career and first since The American Express in 2019.
