Updated: Friday, May 3, 11:05 a.m. ET: The opening round of the Insperity Invitational has been canceled due to weather. Updates on Saturday's tee times will be announced later on Friday.

Round 1 of the Insperity Invitational has been delayed due to weather around The Woodlands Country Club. The Woodlands CC is located in The Woodlands, Texas, an area just north of Houston.

First round tee times were scheduled to begin at 10:10 a.m. local time with the final group going off at 12:16 p.m.. Updated first round tee times have not been established with the status of play on Friday unknown.

This is the 20th playing of the Insperity Invitational, the 16th time being played at The Woodlands CC. Two-time defending champion, Steven Alker, is looking to make it three in a row at the tournament.

This is the third time this season, and second time in three weeks, that play has been affected by weather. The previous two occurrences resulted in cancellations of play. The final round of the Chubb Classic in Naples, Florida was canceled in early February while the second round the Invited Celebrity Classic was canceled in Irving, Texas in mid-April.

Both tournaments were considered official with just 36 holes being completed. Stephen Ames and Paul Broadhurst were the winners of those two events, respectively.

The next update from the tournament team will be at 10 a.m. local time.
