Steven Alker holds one-shot lead after Round 2 of Boeing Classic

Steven Alker birdied the par-5 18th for a 4-under 68 Saturday and carries a one-stroke lead over Vaughn Taylor into Sunday’s final round at the 21st Boeing Classic. The New Zealander seeks to become the tournament’s sixth consecutive international champion.

The 50-year-old rookie seeks his first win on the PGA TOUR Champions after winning three times on the PGA TOUR, most recently the 2016 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. He entered the week No. 42 in the Charles Schwab Cup standings.
• Denmark’s Søren Kjeldsen (T3) carded 5-under 67; Steve Flesch (T3) played his final eight holes in 5 under, capped by an eagle at the par-5 18th, to shoot 69.
• Australia’s Richard Green (T5) climbed 31 spots with a bogey-free, 7-under 65, the low round of the day to match the week’s best.
