In the third round of the 2023 Korn Ferry Tour Championship presented by United Leasing & Finance, Matt McCarty was tied for the lead and projected No. 9 on the Korn Ferry Points List heading to the 54th hole. He carded a quadruple bogey that ended his hopes of earning his PGA TOUR card last year. McCarty has since earned a Three-Victory Promotion onto the PGA TOUR after winning the 2024 Albertsons Boise Open presented by Chevron.
