Born in Jiangyin, China, but grew up in California and graduated from Torrey Pines High School outside San Diego.

Attended the same high school that produced PGA TOUR players Jamie Lovemark and Michael Kim and former TOUR player Pat Perez, as well as the LPGA’s Muni He.

Was the 2017 National High School Senior Boys’ Golf Athlete of the Year in a vote of National High School Coaches Association.

Was a 2017 AJGA first-team All-American and a second-team selection in 2014 and 2016.
