Was diagnosed with Tourette's syndrome when he was 15.

Uncle is actor John Wesley Shipp, whose credits include The Flash (both the 1990s and mid-2010s series), an episode of CSI: NY, two episodes of NYPD Blue, 21 episodes of As The World Turns in the 1980s, and 37 episodes of Guiding Light in the 1980s.

Amateur Highlights

Won five tournaments at North Carolina State, including two during his senior season. First came at the Schenkel Invitational in March 2021 in his home state of Georgia. Opened a six-shot lead with a round to play in Statesboro and coasted to a whopping 11-stroke victory over Christopher Gotterup and Maximiliian Steinlechner. Later that month, in Awendaw, South Carolina, shot a pair of 67s over his final 36 holes to overtake Andrew Kozan and win by a shot.

Won the 2020 GCAA Amateur Series held at Raleigh’s Lonnie Poole GC in North Carolina. Held a four-shot lead with 18 holes to play. Bettered Maximilian Steinlechner and Nicholas Lyerly by a shot despite shooting a final-round 75.

Captured the 2019 South Beach International Amateur at Miami Beach GC and Normandy Shores GC. Finished regulation tied with Oklahoma’s Garett Reband after trailing by Reband by four shots through 54 holes. Went on to defeat Reband in a playoff.

Won the 2018 Wolfpack Intercollegiate, shooting a final-round 64 to overtake UNC-Greensboro’s Jonathan Brightwell to win by two strokes.

In high school, was the Georgia High School Golf Coaches Association 2A Player of the Year in consecutive seasons, beginning in 2015. Was a four-time all-state selection.

Was a two-time All-ACC first-team selection.

Earned a spot on the 2021 U.S. Palmer Cup team.
