Season Recap
2024 Season
Finished No. 5 on the 2024 Korn Ferry Tour Points List, earning his first PGA TOUR card (top 30 from Points List) in what was his second season on Tour. One of five multi-time winners on Tour in 2024, earned back-to-back victories in April at the LECOM Suncoast Classic and Veritex Bank Championship. Totaled six top-10s across 22 starts. Also made his major championship debut at the 2024 PGA Championship, in addition to qualifying for the 2024 U.S. Open. Became the eighth player representing Sweden to graduate from the Korn Ferry Tour. Ranked sixth on Tour in Par 4 Scoring Average (3.91), and ranked seventh on Tour in Total Driving and Birdie Average.
LECOM Suncoast Classic
Parred the second hole of a sudden-death playoff (par-4 18th) as he defeated Patrick Cover (eliminated after bogey on the first playoff hole -- also No. 18) and Steven Fisk and won his first career Korn Ferry Tour title at the LECOM Suncoast Classic. Became the fifth player from Sweden to win a Korn Ferry Tour event, joining Daniel Chopra, Mathias Gronberg, David Lingmerth, and Henrik Norlander.
Veritex Bank Championship
Won a second consecutive Korn Ferry Tour event, and did so in record-setting fashion with a four-stroke victory at the Veritex Bank Championship. With rounds of 62-63-65-63, at Texas Rangers Golf Club in Arlington, totaled 31-under 253, breaking the Korn Ferry Tour record for lowest 72-hole score relative to par previously established by Daniel Chopra/30-under 258/2004 Henrico County Open and Stephan Jaeger/30-under 250/2016 Ellie Mae Classic). Widing's winning score of 253 marked the second-lowest 72-hole score in Korn Ferry Tour history, only behind Stephan Jaeger's 250 from the 2016 Ellie Mae Classic. Made 33 birdies, breaking the Korn Ferry Tour record for most birdies in a 72-hole event (previous record was 31 birdies, which occurred five times). Also made one eagle, with his combination of 34 birdies and eagles breaking the Korn Ferry Tour record for most birdies and eagles in a 72-hole event previously established by Norman Xiong (33/2022 Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas Wichita Open). Opened with rounds of 62-63, which left him one stroke off the 36-hole lead but tied the seventh-lowest opening 36-hole score in Korn Ferry Tour history. Following a third-round 65, stood at 23-under 190, making him the fifth player in Korn Ferry Tour history -- and the first since Jaeger's 23-under 187 at the 2016 Ellie Mae Classic -- with a 54-hole score of 190 or lower in the first 54 holes of a Tour event, in addition to tying the sixth-lowest 54-hole score in Korn Ferry Tour history across any three rounds. Also became the 13th player (14th occurrence) in Korn Ferry Tour history to win consecutive events, as well as the 18th player (19th occurrence) in Tour history to win consecutive starts. Marked the 12th time in Korn Ferry Tour history a player won twice in the first nine events of the season.
