Younger brother, Jack, was a two-time All-American who played two and a half seasons at Florida State University (2013-15).

Played three and a half seasons at University of North Florida (2011-14), winning two collegiate events and earning a 2013 All-America Third Team honor, along with All-Atlantic Sun Conference First Team selections in 2013 and 2014.

First of his collegiate wins came at the 2013 Atlantic Sun Conference Championship.

Won the 108th Southern Amateur Championship in 2014 with a 4-under 284 total to defeat Australian Geoff Drakeford and Victor Perez by three shots at The Honors Course in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Made his PGA TOUR debut as an amateur at the 2015 Arnold Palmer Invitational, which he gained entry to via his win at the 2014 Southern Amateur Championship.
