Ryan Voois holds one-stroke lead after Round 1 at Digital Commerce Group Open

Ryan Voois (Orange County, California) carded 10 birdies in a 9-under 61 on Thursday to take a one-stroke lead through 18 holes at the Digital Commerce Group Open in Victoria, British Columbia.

After four seasons at the University of Illinois, Voois earned membership by finishing No. 25 in the PGA Tour University Class of 2026. Since turning pro in June, he has two top-25 finishes in six starts, including a T10 at the Osprey Valley Open, and entered the week No. 83 on the points list. To qualify for the season-ending Dominican Republic Tour Championship presented by Scotiabank, Voois needs to move into the top 60 in the season-long standings by the end of next week’s ATB Classic.

Corey Pereira (Sacramento, California) opened with a bogey-free 62 at Uplands Golf Club, his best score in 86 career Tour-sanctioned starts, and is part of a three-way tie for second. Pereira enters the week No. 2 on the PGA Tour Americas Points List with five top-10 finishes, including a win at the Mexico Championship presented by Scotia Wealth Management, and in position to finish in the top 10 on the points list and earn Korn Ferry Tour membership for 2028.

Also tied for second at 8-under are Johnny Travale (Hamilton, Ontario) and Charlie Nikitas (Glenview, Illinois). Ethan Ng (New York, New York) made an albatross on the par-5 seventh and is tied for the eighth spot after a 6-under 64, while 2023 Digital Commerce Group Open champion Étienne Papineau (Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec) is tied for 16th at 5 under.
