Justin Biwer takes four-shot lead into weekend at CRMC Championship presented by Northern Pacific Center

Justin Biwer (San Diego, California) carded a course-record-tying 61 Friday at Cragun’s Legacy Course and leads by four over six players after the second round of the CRMC Championship presented by Northern Pacific Center in Brainerd, Minnesota.

Through 36 holes, Biwer is 14 under with one eagle, 20 birdies, 11 pars, one bogey, two double bogeys and one triple bogey. On Friday, his front nine included an eagle on the par-4 13th and double bogeys on Nos. 12 and 14. He closed with five consecutive birdies on holes five to nine to shoot a back-nine 28 and take a four-stroke lead.

Biwer earned PGA TOUR Americas membership via Q-School in April and is currently No. 43 on the points list with two top-10 finishes in eight starts. He also has a pair of top 10s in three Korn Ferry Tour starts as a nonmember, and at No. 108 on the points list, he qualified for the Simmons Bank Open for the Snedeker Foundation, the first Finals event in two weeks.

Canadians Max Sekulic (Rycroft, Alberta) and Brady McKinlay (Lacombe, Alberta) are part of the six-way tie for second at 10 under. Sekulic closed his bogey-free 63 with a 40-foot eagle putt on nine, while McKinlay aced the 136-yard 16th with a 50-degree wedge en route to his second-round 63.

Also tied for second are Patrick Flavin (Highwood, Illinois), the third-ranked player on the points list, and Tom Fischer (Birmingham, Alabama), a rookie out of Ole Miss who finished No. 14 in the PGA TOUR University Class of 2026. Rounding out the players at 10 under are Peter Knade (Jupiter, Florida) and David Perkins (East Peoria, Illinois).

Due to forecasted inclement weather Friday night and Saturday morning, the third round will be played in threesomes off Nos. 1 and 10 tees, with tee times running from 10:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
