Was a multi-sport athlete growing up, playing high school golf, baseball (pitcher) and football (quarterback) at Second Baptist in the Houston area. High school baseball coach was former Houston Astros star Lance Berkman.
Is close with PGA TOUR and PGA TOUR Champions player Hal Sutton, who has served as his swing instructor.
Amateur Highlights
Reached as high as No. 11 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking. Earned PGA TOUR Canada status by finishing 12th on the final PGA TOUR University rankings.
Won the 2018 Junior PLAYERS Championship at TPC Sawgrass, defeating Akshay Bhatia and Bo Jin, thanks to a 2-under 70 on the final day that got him into a playoff. After Bhatia dropped out, won the title over Jin with a birdie on the second extra hole.
Made his first PGA TOUR cut in his debut, finishing T43 at the 2022 U.S. Open. Played in back-to-back PGA TOUR tournaments in November 2022 during the 2022-23 season. Missed the cut at the World Wide Technology Championship then opened 68-69 to make the cut at the Cadence Bank Houston Open. Went on to T39 after a 71-72 finish left him at even-par for the tournament.
