Dad played college basketball before retiring due to leukemia at age 19.
Was a promising basketball player growing up. He held the Pinedale High School varsity single-game scoring record (47 points) and the Pinedale career scoring record (1,523 points).
Owns an elk antler dog chew company, Bone Brother Dog Chews, he started in 2022 with his 13-year-old brother.
Grew up in a small mountain town, Pinedale, Wyoming, which has a population of 2,200 atan elevation of 7,200 feet. Only played golf five months a year until he went to college.
When he was a teenager, he built a 4-foot-by-16-foot platform in his room where he practiced putting. His goal each winter was to make 10,000 10-footers, 5,000 15-footers and 15,000 five-foot putts.

Three-time Wyoming high school champion and two-time Wyoming State Player of the Year.
