Played college baseball at Trinity University in San Antonio. Following his collegiate career he signed a contract with the St. Louis Cardinals, where he played with the Ocean State Waves in the New England Collegiate Baseball League in 2013. The following year, he played in the Appalachian League, for the Johnson City Cardinals.
