12 PGA TOUR Canada alumni earn 2024 PGA TOUR cards

    NEWBURGH, Indiana – The 2023 Korn Ferry Tour season concluded Sunday afternoon at the Korn Ferry Tour Championship presented by United Leasing & Finance, as 30 PGA TOUR cards were awarded in a ceremony on No. 18 green at Victoria National Golf Club. Twelve of those cards belonged to PGA TOUR Canada alumni Rico Hoey, Ben Silverman, Paul Barjon, Max Greyserman, David Skinns, Jake Knapp, Joe Highsmith, Patrick Fishburn, Kevin Dougherty, Wilson Furr, Parker Coody, and Ryan McCormick.

    The 30 Korn Ferry Tour graduates will earn PGA TOUR membership for the 2024 season, which begins in January. Listed in order of their finish on the 2023 Korn Ferry Tour Points List, below is a look at each of the latest PGA TOUR Canada alumni headed to the PGA TOUR next year.

    No. 4 – Rico Hoey, United States

    PGA TOUR Canada starts: 12; PGA TOUR Canada wins: 1

    Hoeywas the top performer amongst the PGA TOUR Canada alumni, finishing fourth on the Korn Ferry Tour Points List after a strong season of seven top-10s that included a victory at the Visit Knoxville Open. The 28-year-old University of Southern California alum turned professional in 2017, playing his first season on the PGA TOUR Canada where he was able to get his first taste of victory in the final event of the season, earning Korn Ferry Tour status with that key win, which boosted him into the top five. Hoey has since played four seasons and 97 tournaments on the Korn Ferry Tour.

    No. 5 – Ben Silverman, Canada

    PGA TOUR Canada starts: 26; PGA TOUR Canada wins: 0

    Silverman finished fifth and will return to the PGA TOUR for the first time since back-to-back seasons in 2017-18 and 2018-19. The 35-year-old from Concord, Ontario, a suburb north of Toronto, turned professional in 2010, but didn’t start playing on the PGA TOUR Canada until 2014. He played two full seasons in his homeland before breaking onto the Korn Ferry Tour in 2016. He has since played in more than 100 events on the Korn Ferry Tour and recorded two wins, the most recent being his first event of the year at The Bahamas Great Abaco Classic at the Abaco Club in late January.

    No. 8 - Paul Barjon, France

    PGA TOUR Canada starts: 36; PGA TOUR Canada wins: 3

    Barjon finished eighth on the points list, winning twice on the Korn Ferry Tour in 2023. His first victory came at the Memorial Health Championship presented by LRS and his second came at the season-ending Korn Ferry Tour Championship presented by United Leasing & Finance, boosting him into the top 10. The 31-year-old Texas Christian University alum turned pro in 2016, playing on PGA TOUR Canada in 2016, 2018 and 2019. In 2019, he secured two wins and eight top-10s, earning Player of the Year honors and full status on the Korn Ferry Tour for 2020. He took that opportunity in stride and made his way on to the PGA TOUR a year later. 2024 will mark Barjon’s return to the PGA TOUR, where he’s played 35 events with one top-10 finish.

    No. 9 - Max Greyserman, United States

    PGA TOUR Canada starts: 12; PGA TOUR Canada wins: 0

    Finishing ninth on the points list was Greyserman, who hails from New Jersey and attended Duke University. He played on the PGA TOUR Canada most recently in 2018, where he had two top-25 finishes in eight starts. He went on to play four-consecutive seasons on the Korn Ferry Tour, clinching his first PGA TOUR card off the strength of runner-up finishes at The Ascendant presented by Blue and Pinnacle Bank Championship presented by Aetna.

    No. 12 – David Skinns, England

    PGA TOUR Canada starts: 29; PGA TOUR Canada wins: 0

    Also making a return to the PGA TOUR is Skinns, a 41-year-old native of Lincoln, England. He finished No. 12 on the points list after winning the Club Car Championship at The Landings Golf & Athletic Club and securing five top-10s in 2023. Skinns played three separate seasons in Canada (2013, 2015 and 2016), recording nearly 30 events and six top-10s.

    No. 13 – Jake Knapp, United States

    PGA TOUR Canada starts: 47; PGA TOUR Canada wins: 3

    Knapp,a Southern California native, finished No. 13 and earned his PGA TOUR card for the first time after posting 10 top-10s, including his last at the Korn Ferry Tour Championship, to secure 2024 PGA TOUR membership. After attending UCLA, Knapp’s professional career started in 2016 on the PGA TOUR Canada. An explosive 2019 season on PGA TOUR Canada included two wins, a runner-up, and five top 10s, which credited him with his first Korn Ferry Tour membership in 2020. After returning to PGA TOUR Canada for his fifth season in 2022, the UCLA alum posted a win, a runner-up finish, and four top-10s to once again secure 2023 Korn Ferry Tour status, leading him now to the PGA TOUR.

    No. 18 - Joe Highsmith, United States

    PGA TOUR Canada starts: 8; PGA TOUR Canada wins: 0

    At just 23 years old,Highsmith earned aNo. 18 finish on the Korn Ferry Tour Points List, securing his first PGA TOUR card in just his second season as a professional. Last year, in his first season, the Pepperdine University graduatefinished No. 10 on the PGA TOUR University Ranking to earn PGA TOUR Canada playing privileges for the remainder of the season. In Canada, Highsmith saw a perfect eight cuts made in eight appearances, earning five top-10s and a runner-up finish at the ATB Classic. Highsmith then advanced to the Korn Ferry Tour and successfully placed runner-up at the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship followed by a tied for third at the Korn Ferry Tour Championship to clinch his PGA TOUR card.

    No. 19 - Patrick Fishburn, United States

    PGA TOUR Canada starts: 19; PGA TOUR Canada wins: 1

    After three-consecutive seasons on the Korn Ferry Tour, Fishburnearned his first PGA TOUR card after posting three top-10s and a runner-up finish at the NV5 Invitational presented by Old National Bank to finish 19th on the points list. The Utah native began his professional journey on PGA TOUR Canada, making a perfect seven-of-seven cuts in his rookie season. Fishburn continued this success in his second year on PGA TOUR Canada, notching a victory at the Canada Life Championship, a runner-up finish and four top-10s in his 11 of 12 cuts made.

    No. 22 - Kevin Dougherty, United States

    PGA TOUR Canada starts: 11; PGA TOUR Canada wins: 0

    Playing 10 tournaments on PGA TOUR Canada in 2015, Dougherty went on to play five-consecutive seasons (2018-23) on the Korn Ferry Tour, where he earned 2024 PGA TOUR membership after a No. 22 finish on the points list last week. In 2023, the Oklahoma State University alum posted five top-10s and a solo runner-up finish at the Astara Golf Championship presented by Mastercard to solidify his ranking inside the top-30.

    No. 24 - Wilson Furr, United States

    PGA TOUR Canada starts: 7; PGA TOUR Canada wins: 0

    Furr, a 25-year-old University of Alabama alum,finished 24th on the Korn Ferry Tour Points List this season to earn a PGA TOUR card for the first time in his career. After turning professional in 2021, Furr played one season on PGA TOUR Canada where he made two cuts, finishing back-to-back tournaments in the top-25. He went on to play 25 events at the Korn Ferry Tour level where five top-10s, including a tie for second at the AdventHealth Championship and a tie for sixth at the Korn Ferry Tour Championship, helped earn him status on the PGA TOUR beginning in January.

    No. 25 - Parker Coody, United States

    PGA TOUR Canada starts: 9; PGA TOUR Canada wins: 1

    Immediately following graduation from the University of Texas in 2022, Coodylanded his spot on PGA TOUR Canada with a No. 13 finish in the PGA TOUR University Ranking. The 23-year-old found instant success in his rookie season, earning a win at the CentrePort Canada Rail Park Manitoba Open, and joining his grandfather and fraternal twin brother in being victorious on one of the PGA TOUR’s affiliated Tour’s. He went on to earn Korn Ferry Tour status in 2023, also tying for second at the AdventHealth Championship and securing five top-10s, which led to a No. 25 ranking on the Korn Ferry Tour Points List and earned Coody his first PGA TOUR card.

    No. 27 - Ryan McCormick, United States

    PGA TOUR Canada starts: 22; PGA TOUR Canada wins: 0

    McCormickbegan his professional career on PGA TOUR Canada in 2014 after graduating from St. John’s University. In his two seasons in Canada, he played in 22 events and recorded two top-10s. The New Jersey native made his Korn Ferry Tour debut in 2016, playing in nearly 100 Korn Ferry Tour events over the course of seven years. The 31-year-old excelled on the Korn Ferry Tour in 2023, recording four top-10s, one of which was a third-place finish at the NV5 Invitational presented by Old National Bank, to secure a top-30 ranking. He finished No. 27 to earn his first PGA TOUR card for 2024.
