English's longtime hometown of Thomasville, Georgia hosted a PGA TOUR event, the Thomasville Open, at Glen Arven Country Club from 1936-41. Winners of the event included 52-time PGA TOUR winner Byron Nelson (1938) and Lloyd Mangrum (1940), who earned the first of his 36 TOUR titles at the event. Ben Hogan finished T2 in 1941. In September 2019, Glen Arven Country Club began hosting the Harris English Invitational, an annual event on the Southeastern Junior Golf Tour -- a junior circuit English played on as a youngster.

Attended Baylor School (2003-07) in Chattanooga, Tennessee, where he led the boys golf team to four state titles (2003-06 -- all contested in the fall). Also won the 2005 individual state title. Teammates at Baylor School included future PGA TOUR winners Keith Mitchell (2005, 2006 state championship-winning teams) and Stephan Jaeger (2006 state championship-winning team).

Teammates in his four seasons at University of Georgia (2007-11) included Brian Harman (two seasons -- 2007-09), Russell Henley (all four seasons), Keith Mitchell (2010-11 season), and Hudson Swafford (all four seasons, though Swafford redshirted in 2009-10).

Not many people know that he is a "Jeopardy" fanatic.

Football fan who follows the Atlanta Falcons and Jacksonville Jaguars in the NFL, and is naturally a huge University of Georgia fan.

A week after helping the United States win the 2021 Ryder Cup, made an appearance on ESPN's College Gameday as the guest picker between then-No. 2 Georgia and No. 8 Arkansas in Athens, Georgia. Of course, he picked his Georgia Bulldogs to win (and Georgia went on to win 37-0).

Biggest thrill outside golf was shooting an 11-point buck.

Bucket list includes skydiving, flying in an F16 and driving a NASCAR vehicle.
