Resumen de la temporada

Temporada con año 2026

Valspar Championship

Made a 13-foot, 11-inch birdie putt on the 72nd hole of regulation, the par-4 18th on the Copperhead Course at Innisbrook Resort, for a one-stroke victory over David Lipsky and his third PGA TOUR title. Prior to the final round, had not birdied No. 18 in 11 previous rounds at the event. Totaled 11-under 273 with four rounds in the 60s and went bogey-free across his final 36 holes, becoming the third winner of the event to record a bogey-free final round (Luke Donald/2012, Kevin Streelman/2013). Following the win, rose to No. 6 in the Official World Golf Ranking, the highest ranking of his career and his first appearance in the top 10 since April 2024.

RBC Heritage

Earned his fourth PGA TOUR title as he defeated Scottie Scheffler with a birdie on the first playoff hole, the par-4 18th at Harbour Town Golf Links, hitting a 4-iron to 13 feet, 4 inches to set up the winning putt. Marked his second TOUR win in a three-start span (Valspar Championship) and secured his first multi-win season on TOUR. Previously won the 2023 RBC Heritage, making him the 11th player to win the event multiple times. In the final round, birdied two of the first three holes (par-4 first and third), but bogeyed the 72nd hole of regulation as he closed in 1-under 70. Held a one-stroke lead through 36 holes at 14-under 128, the second-lowest 36-hole score in tournament history (126/Stewart Cink/2021), and a three-stroke lead through 54 holes at 17-under 196, the second-lowest 54-hole score in tournament history (195/Stewart Cink/2021). Improved to 3-for-5 converting the 54-hole lead/co-lead into victory, having previously accomplished the feat in wins at the 2022 U.S. Open and 2023 RBC Heritage. Following the win, rose to No. 3 in the Official World Golf Ranking, his first appearance in the top five.

Zurich Classic of New Orleans

With his younger brother, Alex Fitzpatrick, as his partner, earned his fifth PGA TOUR title at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans. Won for a second consecutive week (RBC Heritage) and for the third time in his last four starts on TOUR (Valspar Championship). Became the first player since 2024 to win back-to-back TOUR events (Scottie Scheffler/2024 Masters Tournament and 2024 RBC Heritage). Totaled a tournament-record 31-under 257 at TPC Louisiana off the strength of a 15-under 57 in the third round, the lowest 18-hole score in the Four-ball format since the tournament became a team event in 2017. Marked the fourth consecutive year Matt and Alex played the event together (T19/2023, T11/2024, MC/2025).
