Charlie Crockett converts 54-hole lead into win at ATB Classic presented by Building Trades of Alberta

Charlie Crockett (Surrey, England) closed with a 4-under 66 to convert his 54-hole lead into his first PGA Tour Americas-sanctioned victory Sunday at the ATB Classic presented by Building Trades of Alberta. The win comes in Crockett’s 29th career start on the Tour, and he moved to No. 6 on the points list ahead of next month’s Dominican Republic Tour Championship presented by Scotiabank, where the top 10 players on the final points list will earn Korn Ferry Tour membership for 2027.

Playing with Crockett in Sunday’s final pairing, Corey Pereira (Sacramento, California) aced the 168-yard sixth hole with a 9-iron at Blackhawk Golf Club. He only gained one stroke, however, as Crockett birdied the par 3 to stay tied for the lead.

“Yeah, I watched Corey make a one on six and I was like, 'oh, OK, I guess it's like that' because we both kind of had a slowish start and that kind of sparked us, I think,” Crockett said. “I made a lovely putt from across the green from about 25 feet on top of him, so we played the hole in three strokes between the two of us.”

Crockett regained a one-stroke edge with a birdie on eight and closed with a back-nine 34 en route to his winning 18-under total, while Pereira faded with bogeys on Nos. 12 and 15 to finish T5 at 15 under.

“Holed another nice probably 12-footer on hole eight, too. That was critical when it settled me into the round,” Crockett said. “I just kept the momentum on my side and did a great job of that today."

Crockett played two seasons at Hutchinson Community College (2018-20) before finishing his collegiate career at the University of Missouri (2021-24), highlighted by Second Team All-SEC accolades in 2022-23. He finished 72nd on the PGA Tour Americas Points List as a rookie in 2024, but only made the cut twice in eight starts last season to lose membership.

He regained membership for this season as a First Stage medalist last year in PGA Tour Q-School presented by Korn Ferry, and he has capitalized with six top-10 finishes in 12 starts, including Sunday’s win.

“I knew in order for me to get a card, I had to win or finish second both times the last two events,” Crockett said. “It's definitely my goal to improve my career, move to the next level and this has given me an extraordinary chance to do that. I'm super grateful and I'm really looking forward to going to the Dominican and trying to improve.”

Playing in the sixth-to-last group, Justin Biwer (San Diego, California) was 17 under through 17 holes, but a bogey on the par-5 18th dropped him to 16 under and ultimately in a tie for second with Charlie Nikitas (Glenview, Illinois) and Matthew Kress (Sea Island, Georgia).

For Kress, the T2 result earned him a spot in the 60-player season finale, as he improved 66 spots to No. 47 on the points list. Also moving into the top 60 was Jonas Baumgartner (Bielefeld, Germany), who closed with a 4-under 66 to finish T10 and improve 19 spots to No. 52 on the points list.

Among the tournament’s top-six finishers were four players in the top 10 on the points list: Pereira (T5) is No. 2 in points, Biwer (T2) is No. 5, Crockett (won) is No. 6 and Nikitas (T2) is No. 8.

Thomas Ponder (Dothan, Alabama), who missed the cut this week, maintains the No. 1 spot in points and leads the race for 10 Korn Ferry Tour cards as PGA Tour Americas travels to PGA Ocean’s 4 in Playa Nueva Romana, Dominican Republic, for the season-ending Dominican Republic Tour Championship presented by Scotiabank (Oct. 15-18).
