Used to attend the Doral Open and wanted nothing more than to play that tournament; he has a picture of himself at age 3 with Jack Nicklaus at the event in 1986.

Married to Ashley who was a collegiate volleyball and track athlete, and later worked for the U.S. Congress in Washington, D.C.; she and Ryan were set up by Scott and Jennifer Stallings.

Father (Steve Blaum) played football at LSU. Brother (Brent Blaum) played golf at LSU and baseball at Alcorn State.
