Brett White poses with his family after winning the 2025 Commissionaires Ottawa Open presented by Lépine Apartments. (PGA TOUR Americas)

Canada’s capital city is the host of this week’s Commissionaires Ottawa Open presented by Lépine Apartments, the ninth event of the PGA TOUR Americas season. The event’s first three champions were Stuart Macdonald (2023), Barend Botha (2024) and Brett White (2025), and the tournament will be played at Marshes Golf Club for the first time in 2026.

The 156-player field is highlighted by Thomas Ponder, who has taken over the No. 1 spot on the points list after securing his first victory last week at the Explore NB Open. The third-year pro out of the University of Alabama won by three with a 28-under total, the lowest 72-hole score in relation to par since PGA TOUR Americas was formed in 2024. The win pushed him past three other winners this season, Corey Pereira (No. 2), Patrick Flavin (No. 3) and Drew Doyle (No. 4).

Player notes

  • Thomas Ponder (Dothan, Alabama) tallied his first victory in his 34th start on PGA TOUR Americas at last week’s Explore NB Open. He leads the tour in several statistical categories, including top-10 finishes (six), scoring average (67.44, minimum 12 rounds), stroke differential (+2.64), rounds in the 60s (27), total birdies (164) and par-3 scoring (2.86) – and most importantly, he is No. 1 on the points list.
  • Joey Savoie (Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec) has made the cut in his two previous starts at the Commissionaires Ottawa Open, including a T6 in 2024 at Eagle Creek Golf Club. Savoie recorded his first PGA TOUR Americas victory in May at the Kia Open de Ecuador presentado por Diners Club, and he enters the week No. 5 on the points list.
  • Mason Williams (Bridgeport, West Virginia) made his seventh straight cut last week, and his T26 finish moved him back into the top 10 on the points list. Williams has four top-20 finishes this season, including a pair of third-place showings.
  • Lance Simpson (Knoxville, Tennessee) earned membership by finishing No. 11 on the PGA TOUR University Class of 2026, and he posted his first career top-10 finish with a T8 finish last week at the Explore NB Open. The rookie finished T27 in his pro debut at the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas Wichita Open presented by Syndeo, and he’s No. 62 on the points list in just two starts.
  • Connor Howe (Ogden, Utah) is one of just three players who have made the cut in all eight events this season. A fourth-year pro out of Georgia Tech, Howe has two top-10 finishes this season, highlighted by a fourth-place finish at the Diners Club Peru Open, and he’s No. 21 on the points list.

PGA TOUR Americas Points List

At the end of the season, the top-10 players on the final PGA TOUR Americas Points List earn Korn Ferry Tour membership for the 2027 season.
