Individual Daily Tickets Still AvailableCHARLOTTE N.C., February 8, 2008-Weekly Ticket Books for the 2008 edition of the Wachovia Championship are sold out for the April 28-May 4 tournament at Quail Hollow Club, where Tiger Woods will defend his 2007 title.
This ticket option for patrons has traditionally been available until mid March. "We are seeing the numbers of purchases increasing earlier and earlier each year," said Wachovia Championship Executive Director Kym Hougham. "I believe the Wachovia Championship has become a spring tradition in this area that people do not want to miss." The Wachovia Championship is not only one of the premier events in the North Carolina region, but also in the world. Last year's championship was one of only nine tournaments around the globe where all of the top-10 players in the Official World Golf Rankings gathered to compete. Also sold out are Saturday Daily Tickets. Ticket options still available include a Practice Pack that consists of daily tickets for Monday's Pro-Am along with Tuesday's practice round and Wednesday's Pro-Am for $25. Tickets for the first two rounds Thursday and Friday are $40 each and tickets for Sunday's final round are $50 each. Once again, the cost of parking at authorized lots and shuttle service to and from Quail Hollow Club are included in the ticket price for the April 28-May 4 PGA TOUR event. Patrons and sports fans will find more photos, videos and easy navigation to purchase tickets by visiting www.wachoviachampionship.com. The site will continue to have new tools added as championship week approaches. Frequent visits are recommended for the most up to date information. Patrons can also purchase tickets by calling (800) 945-0777. The Wachovia Championship is offering two new Premium Ticket options this year: The Ultimate Access package includes access to the Clubhouse, Event Lawn, 17th green Executive Club, 8th green Champions Club, 16th green Overlook Club, 3rd green Dining Chalet and Grounds along with spectacular amenities and merchandise. Also new is The Overlook Club which provides access to a lakeside setting on the 16th green with panoramic views of three greens-14, 16 and 17. Included in this package are many upscale additions. For more information on both, please visit the championship website. Due to the large volume of renewal purchases by past patrons, a limited number of traditional Premium Tickets remain. Executive Club is the only option and few are left. Champions Club and Event Lawn packages are already sold out. To accommodate families, children ages 12 and under are free with a paid adult admission (one child per paying adult). Weekly ticket books include admission to all seven days of the tournament. With ticket books, the same person does not have to use the ticket each day, allowing family members, friends and business associates to share the cost of the event. A majority of the proceeds from the 2008 Wachovia Championship will benefit Teach For America, a national foundation that provides a corps of outstanding recent college graduates of all academic majors who commit to teach for two years in underserved urban and rural public schools. In five years, the Wachovia Championship has donated over $7.5 million to charities. About the Wachovia Championship For more information, visit the tournament website, www.wachoviachampionship.com.
