Redstone executive David Shindeldecker passes away

David C. Shindeldecker, chairman, president and CEO of The Redstone Companies, passed away on Oct. 25 while on a hunting trip in South Dakota.

Funeral services are set for Oct. 30 at 11 AM at Geo. H Lewis & Sons Funeral Home, 1010 Berning Drive, in Houston.

Shindeldecker was also a member of the Houston Golf Association Board of Directors. He played a major role in helping the Houston Golf Association move the Shell Houston Open to Redstone Golf Club.

He was also the first chairman of The First Tee of Houston/Redstone Operating Committee. Shindeldecker received the Paul Wahlberg Helping Hand Award in 2004 for his outstanding service to the game of golf, the PGA TOUR and the Houston Golf Association.
