2013 SHO Operating Committee Announced

HOUSTON - Meg Leachman will serve as General Chair for the 2013 and 2014 Shell Houston Open, announced Houston Golf Association Board Chairman Jim Brothers.
She is succeeding Houston architect Herschel Sikes, who completed a two-year stint as General Chair.
Leachman announced that Houston Golf Association members David Merritt and Darby Kurtin will serve as Vice Chairs for the 2013 tournament, set March 25-31 at Redstone Golf Club - Tournament Course.
Merritt will serve as Vice Chair/Hospitality and Kurtin as Vice Chair/Mobility.
Returning to the positions they held for 2012 are Vice Chair/Tournament Operations Steve Brickhouse; Vice Chair/Tournament Support Helen Duskin and Vice Chair/Tournament Services T.J. Covino.
Committees the Vice Chairs will oversee include:
Brickhouse - Scoring Standards, Walking Scorers, Lasers [Shotlink], Marshals, Evacuation, Roping, Security, Volunteer Oasis, Volunteer Resources; Duskin - Media Center, Media [VIP] Relations, Food & Beverage, Admissions, Will Call, Exhibits, Information; Kurtin - On-site Parking, General Parking, Volunteer Parking, Carts, Departures, Parking Revenue, Media & VIP Parking; Merritt - Corporate Hospitality, HGA Hospitality, Executive Suites @ 17, Bayou Terrace, Lakeside Skyboxes, Champions Pavilion @ 18, Charity Partners, SHO Volunteer Party, Redstone Hospitality, SHO Club 16, Monday Pro-Am, Wednesday Grand-Pro-Am, Wednesday Member Course Pro-Am; Covino - Transportation, Professional Caddies, Medical, Safety, Distribution, Player Services.
A Houston Golf Association volunteer since 2004, Leachman has served as Vice Chair of Mobility and Spectator Services for the 2010, 2011 and 2012 Shell Houston Open tournaments. She has also served on the HGA Junior Golf Committee, HGA Academic Scholarship Committee and as a volunteer for The First Tee of Greater Houston.
Recipient of the Earl Elliott HGA Member of the Year Award in 2011, Leachman volunteers time to serve on the advisory board of the Cenikor Foundation.
She is Director of Marketing and Business Development for SNC-Lavalin, an international engineering and construction firm, where she has been employed for 18 years.
