Jay Haas Joins Field For The Boeing Championship

The field for the 2007 Boeing Championship at Sandestin continues to grow in strength and numbers as last year's Champions Tour Player of the Year Jay Haas has announced his commitment to the event.

Haas, who also captured the 2006 Charles Schwab Cup crown, is currently on top of the 2007 Champions Tour money list with $689,618 through eight events. He has finished in the top five of his eight tournaments this year, including capturing the Toshiba Classic in March.

"Jay Haas is considered the top player on the Champions Tour presently and we are thrilled to have him commit to our tournament," said Larry Long, tournament director of the Boeing Championship at Sandestin. "Jay's commitment strengthens our field even more as we strive to bring the best golfers in the world to the Florida Panhandle. Our tournament is shaping up as one of the best on the Champions Tour."

A seven-time winner on the Champions Tour, Haas did not participate in last year's Boeing Championship at Sandestin due to a family commitment.

Haas won four Champions Tour events last season, including the Senior PGA Championship at Oak Tree Golf Club in Edmond, Oklahoma, his first major championship in ninety starts on the Champions Tour.
