WATSON WINS IN FLORIDA Tom Watson won the Outback Steakhouse Pro-Am for his first professional victory in Florida last
weekend, closing with a 1-under 70 in cold and windy conditions for a one-stroke margin over Jay Haas and Andy Bean last Sunday.
Watson, the five-time British Open champion who entered the week winless in 93 pro events in Florida, birdied the final hole
in the second round shortly after frost cleared on the TPC Tampa Bay course to pull within a stroke of the lead.
BOEING CHAMPIONSHIP SEEKING VOLUNTEERS The Boeing Championship, one of the finest sporting events in the Fort Walton/Destin
area, has made a name for itself with fantastic finishes. None of it would be possible without the outstanding volunteer force
that numbers 750 strong. For an entire week our area becomes the focal point of the golf world. You don't even have to be
a golf fanatic to make a difference-there are literally hundreds of roles available where golf knowledge takes a backseat
to your desire to help the community. So take a glance at the volunteer committee descriptions and decide which roles will
benefit most from your unique skills. We encourage you to join us this year and become a part of the volunteer team that's
one of the best in the business. Nothing compares to getting this close to the action of today's hottest sport! For additional
information and to register log on to www.theboeingchampionship.com.
NEXT UP ON THE CHAMPIONS TOUR... The Champions Tour remains in the Sunshine State this week for the ACE Group Classic
in Naples at Quail West. Loren Roberts became the first Champions Tour player to win the first three events of the season
with his victory at The ACE Group Classic last season. He defeated R.W. Eaks and Brad Bryant by a stroke.
