(May 7, 2007 - Melville, NY) - Join us and be part of a Long Island tradition. The Commerce Bank Championship is now accepting
volunteer applications to ensure the tournament's success. Nearly 700 volunteers enroll annually, participating in committees
such as transportation, player services, walking scorers and laser operators. The dedication and support of our volunteers
over the last 20 years has made the Commerce Bank Championship one of the most prestigious stops on the Champions Tour.
The Commerce Bank Championship will be played June 25-July 1, 2007 at the Red Course at Eisenhower Park, East Meadow, NY.
"Recruiting enthusiastic volunteers to assist with all areas of tournament operations is essential to the success of our
event," says Tony Marr, Tournament Manager. "Not only does volunteering provide access to players and the tournament, but
it also enables individuals the opportunity to support our charitable beneficiaries. We would also like to thank all the returning
volunteers for their efforts in years past and continued support."
Volunteer jobs will be filled on a first come, first-served basis. Some of the positions available include: assisting with
player transportation, working with the professionals and amateurs in our Pro-Ams, and on-course operations such as laser
operators and standard bearers. Once again volunteers who work a minimum of two shifts will get to play Eisenhower Park's
Red Course on us!! The fee for volunteering is $50.00 and will include a Nike shirt, hat, free passes to the tournament
as well as food and beverage vouchers for each day worked.
