 Eligibility: Winners of Champions Tour major championships in the last five   years (2001-2005) and winners of Champions Tour official money   cosponsored and approved tournaments in the last two years    (2004-2005).  Up to four sponsor exemptions may be granted to    exempt players who have a minimum of 30 combined PGA TOUR /   Champions Tour victories or players with a minimum of 15
combined career victories who also have a minimum of one major championship victory.

 Charles Schwab Cup: The Charles Schwab Cup will kick off its sixth year at Hualalai.   The Charles Schwab Cup, designed to recognize the Champions   Tour's leading player, is the Champions Tour's season-long   bonus-points competition.  It rewards week-in/week-out top finishes  and consistency in all 29 official money events.  Players receive   points for top-10 finishes and ties based on each week's money   distribution with $1,000 earned being the equivalent of one Charles  Schwab Cup  point (points are doubled at the five majors and tripled  at the season-ending Charles Schwab Cup Championship.)  The   program offers $2.1 million in tax-deferred annuity payouts to the  five leading finishers, with the winner receiving a $1 million   annuity. Tom Watson won the Charles Schwab Cup for the second  time in 2005.

 History: Historically the season-opening event of the Champions Tour   season, the MasterCard Championship was first played as the Senior  Tournament of Champions in 1984.  It was hosted by La Costa   Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, CA through 1994.  It moved to Hyatt  Dorado Beach in Puerto Rico in 1995 and 1996 before moving to   Hualalai Golf Club in 1997.  Miller Barber, George Archer, Al   Geiberger and Dana Quigley are the only two-time winners of the  Championship.
