FROST, GILDER, TWAY JOIN FIELD FOR CONSTELLATION ENERGY SENIOR PLAYERS CHAMPIONSHIP

HARRISON, N.Y. - David Frost, Bob Gilder and Bob Tway have committed to play in the Constellation Energy Senior Players Championship, to be held on August 17-21 at Westchester Country Club.

Frost secured his first Champions Tour victory last year when he won the 3M Championship.  The South African native won 10 times on the PGA TOUR and finished in the top ten on the TOUR's money list in 1988 and 1993.  He also competed in the first Presidents Cup in 1994 and made the team again in 1996 (both held at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club).

Coming off of his 10th Champions Tour win just a few weeks ago at the Principal Charity Classic, Gilder battled for his first win since 2006 by making birdie on three of the final four holes.  The Arizona State University grad won six times on the PGA TOUR before finding immediate success on the Champions Tour in 2001, earning two victories and a Rookie of the Year award.  Gilder was also selected to compete in the 1983 Ryder Cup (PGA National Golf Club).

Tway is seeking his first Champions Tour win.  The eight-time PGA TOUR winner had an opening round 63 at the Greater Hickory Classic at Rock Barn two weeks ago and finished tied for eighth.  The Oklahoma City native had top ten finishes in three of the four majors in just his second season on TOUR in 1986, including a victory at the PGA Championship.  He was named Player of the Year that same season, collecting four first place finishes.

Frost, Gilder and Tway have all won at Westchester Country Club while on the PGA TOUR and are looking to win again on familiar ground.

"It's a tough course because of the ups and downs and you get some different lies," said Gilder, who won there in 1982.  "I enjoy playing there and look forward to going back."  He astonishingly carded a double eagle on the 18th hole in the third round to help him earn the victory.

Four years later, Tway captured his title at Westchester.  "I remember the year I won there (1986), you just had to do everything very, very well," he said.  "I'm excited about going back because I've always loved playing there."

Frost grabbed his fifth PGA TOUR win at Westchester in 1992, winning by eight shots in dominant fashion.

Frost, Gilder and Tway join previously announced players including defending champion Mark O'Meara, Jay Haas, Hale Irwin, Tom Kite, Loren Roberts, Scott Simpson, Bobby Wadkins and D.A. Weibring.  More player announcements will come as additional commitments are received leading up to the Championship.

Individual daily and weekly tickets to the Constellation Energy Senior Players Championship are now on sale.  Those wishing to purchase tickets to the Championship may do so by logging on to the official tournament website,  www.ceseniorplayers.com, or by calling the championship office at 914-481-5900.  A single-day grounds ticket is just $20 plus tax and fees.  This ticket is valid for grounds admission, good any one day, from August 17-21.  A weekly clubhouse-access ticket is available for $125 plus tax and fees and offers admission to the grounds and to the clubhouse every day during the competition rounds, August 18-21.  Food and beverage is available in the clubhouse for additional purchase.  Children 18 and under and active, retired and reserve military personnel are admitted to the grounds at no charge.
