(Savannah, GA) - The Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf will celebrate its 30th anniversary next week at the Westin Savannah
Harbor Golf Resort & Spa and boasts a field that includes 11 World Golf Hall of Fame members. This year's event
kicks off Monday, April 16 with the first round of the Demaret Division (70 and older) team competition and continues through
Sunday, April 22 with the conclusion of the Legends Division individual competition.
The World Golf Hall of Fame will be represented in all three competitive divisions at the Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf.
Beginning Monday morning with the first round of the Demaret Division competition, 1978 World Golf Hall of Fame inductee Billy
Casper will pair with 10-time PGA TOUR winner Gay Brewer. Fellow World Golf Hall of Fame member and 29-time PGA TOUR
winner, Gene Littler, will also compete in the Demaret Division with partner Don January.
Members of the World Golf Hall of Fame competing in the Raphael Division team competition include two-time defending champion
Tom Watson, NBC lead golf analyst Johnny Miller, two-time major champion Tony Jacklin and fan favorite Lee Trevino.
The Raphael division is a two-day team better-ball competition beginning Friday, April 20.
Competing for the $2.5 million official purse in the Legends Division individual competition are five members of the World
Golf Hall of Fame. Champions Tour rookie and 2003 World Golf Hall of Fame member Nick Price will make his Liberty Mutual
Legends of Golf debut when play begins Friday. The three-time major champion will be joined by 2004 Liberty Mutual Legend
of Golf champion Hale Irwin, 22-time PGA TOUR winner Raymond Floyd and 2004 inductee Tom Kite. Larry Nelson, who was
first announced as a Hall of Fame member at a press conference at the 2006 Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf, rounds out those
members competing in the Legends Division.
As in year's past, a press conference will be held during Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf week to announce this year's inductees
to the World Golf Hall of Fame. Representatives from the World Golf Hall of Fame will join tournament and Champions
Tour officials for this announcement. Further details on this announcement will be available at a later date.
