To arrive at the tournament, spectators can take Metro Line 9 to the Sheshan stop, which is a five-minute ride away from Sheshan International Golf Club. IMG will also organize complimentary shuttle buses between the city and the golf club.

Since its first year in 2005, HSBC Champions has been regarded as "Asia's Major" for the calibre of its players and the quality of the tournament.

The elevation of the HSBC Champions to World Golf Championships status in 2009 -- making it one of the world's top professional golf tournaments -- is a well-earned honor. To celebrate this momentous milestone, we are launching a series of promotions to allow more spectators to take part in the tournament. The WGC-HSBC Champions will take place at Shanghai Sheshan International Golf Club from Nov. 5-8, 2009, making it the only World Golf Championships tournament to be held outside of the United States. With an increase in prize money from US$5 million to US$7 million and a revised qualifying criteria, the WGC-HSBC Champions will carry the "Championships" mantle and bring more of the world's best players to China. World No. 1 Tiger Woods and defending champion Sergio Garcia have already confirmed their entries into the world-class field.
