September 11, 2009

Dustin Johnson will have some excellent company when he returns to the Atunyote Golf Club to defend his title at the Turning Stone Resort Championship. The event, scheduled for Sept. 28- Oct. 4, will kick-off the PGA TOUR's Fall Series.

The field is also expected to include Steve Flesch, the victor in the inaugural Championship in 2007. The following players are also scheduled to appear:

Robert Allenby - At the 2008 Turning Stone Resort Championship, he finished second, one shot behind Dustin Johnson.  Earlier this year, he was runner-up again, this time to Tiger Woods in the World Golf Championships - Bridgestone Invitational. He has earned $1.8 million, placing him 35th on the PGA TOUR money list. The Australian also secured a spot on the International squad in the Presidents Cup being held one week after the Turning Stone Resort Championship.

Stuart Appleby - Also from Australia, he has eight career victories, including three consecutive wins at the Mercedes Championships. He has played in the President Cup five times.

K.J. Choi - The South Korean has notched seven PGA TOUR victories and has played in two Presidents Cups.

Brian Gay - He has won twice in 2009; at The Verizon Heritage and the St. Jude Classic presented by FedEx. He is currently 11th on the money list with more than $3 million and is 13th in the FedEx cup standings.

Mathew Goggin - Hailing from Australia, he tied for third at last year's Turning Stone Resort Championship. In 2009, he has three top 10 finishes, including a tie for fifth at the British Open Championship at Royal Berkdale.

Will MacKenzie - A two-time winner on the PGA TOUR and he has recorded top 10 finishes in this year's Honda Classic and The Memorial Tournament.

Rocco Mediate - He has won five times, but is perhaps best known for a second place finish in a prolonged battle with Tiger Woods at the 2008 U.S. Open at Torrey Pines. After being tied in regulation, the two players matched scores again in a Monday 18-hole play-off. Woods finally overcame the feisty Mediate in the first hole of sudden death.

Nick O'Hern - He tied for 10th at last year's Turning Stone Resort Championship. In 2009, his best finish has been in the third spot at the Shell Houston Open. The Australian has represented the International Team in two Presidents Cups.

John Rollins - His introduction to the Atunyote Golf Club was a pleasant one with a victory in the 2006 B.C. Open presented by Turning Stone Resort. This season, he has captured the top prize at the Legends Reno-Tahoe Open and cruised to runner-up finishes at the Buick Invitational and the Honda Classic. He is currently 24th on the money list, with nearly $2.2 million.

Adam Scott - A captain's pick for the Presidents Cup, he has been to the winner's circle on six occasions, including THE 2004 PLAYERS Championship and The 2006 TOUR Championship presented by Coca-Cola.  His upcoming appearance in the Presidents Cup will be the fourth for the 29-year-old Australian.

Jeev Singh - Invited to play on a sponsor's exemption, he garnered international attention with a fourth place finish at this year's World Golf Championship s- CA Championship and a tie for ninth at the 2008 PGA Championship. Singh was born in India.

Heath Slocum - Opened the FedEx Cup playoffs with a victory at The Barclays, and is currently third in the points race. He is 33rd on the money list with $1.9 million in earnings.

Kevin Streelman - He is currently the top golfer in the season-long Kodak Challenge, where aggregate scores are collected on memorable holes at selected tournament venues throughout the year. The winner will receive a $1 million bonus. The Kodak Challenge hole at The Atunyote Golf Club will be number 11, which can measure as long as 230 yards, making it the longest par three on the course.

Marc Turnesa - He is hoping for another bountiful harvest in the PGA TOUR's Fall Series. In 2008, he collected his sole championship at the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open.

The Turning Stone Championship will have a field of 132 players competing for $6 million in prize money, with more than $1 million to the winner. It is the most lucrative event in the Fall Series.
