Oneida Nation Homelands - Charities from throughout the region are raising much-needed funds through the
2009 Upstate New York Empowerment Fund's Tickets for Charity program. This is the third year of the initiative, being held
in conjunction with the Oneida Indian Nation's Turning Stone Resort Championship, an official PGA TOUR event. The program
has raised nearly a half million dollars for philanthropic efforts during its first two years.
The 2009 Turning Stone Resort Championship, held at The Atunyote Golf Club, is scheduled for Monday, Sept. 28 - Sunday,
Oct. 4. Its $6 million purse is the largest in the PGA TOUR's Fall Series. The defending champion is Dustin Johnson,
who already has three top ten finishes on the PGA TOUR in 2009, including a win at The AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am.
The 2008 field also included Robert Allenby, Woody Austin, Notah Begay III, Brad Faxon, 2007 winner Steve Flesch and Davis
Love III.
Participating charitable organization are selling advance tickets to the Championship and each group will receive a check
