| Janzen and Daly to Play in Turning Stone Resort Championship |
|
August 3, 2007 Major Championship winners Lee Janzen and John Daly are in the field for the Turning Stone Resort Championship. Both players
have accepted sponsor exemptions to compete in the PGA TOUR event, scheduled for Sept. 17-23 at the Oneida Nation's Atunyote
Golf Club. Janzen has eight victories on Tour, including U.S. Open Championships in 1993 and 1998 and The 1995
PLAYERS Championship. He put the Turning Stone Resort Championship on his schedule after hearing rave reviews from players
who were introduced to the venue at last year's B.C. Open Presented by Turning Stone. "Everyone I've talked to
said Atunyote, as well as the other two courses at Turning Stone, are outstanding and they were treated great by the staff,
the volunteers and the fans," Janzen said. "I'm especially excited about the opportunity to play a quality golf course that
also has a resort with top-notch hotels, restaurants and all of the other amenities." The
long-hitting Daly burst onto the golf scene in 1991 at age 25 when, playing as an alternate, he was the surprise winner of
The PGA Championship. His booming drives and outgoing personality quickly made him a fan favorite. Daly captured a second
major title in 1995 at The British Open Championship. A five-time winner, he also took home the trophy at the 1992 B.C. Open.
This will be Daly's second trip to Atunyote. He joined Arnold Palmer and Natalie Gulbis in the Turning Stone Invitational
in 2005. At the time, he described Atunyote as "absolutely gorgeous" and said "the greens are perfect." For
