19 Distinguished Community Leaders Comprise Upstate New York Empowerment Fund 2007 Host Committee

A distinguished group of 19 civic leaders and philanthropic-minded executives has joined Ray Halbritter, Chair, to form the 2007 Honorary Host Committee for the inaugural year of the Upstate New York Empowerment Fund.

The Fund was formed recently as the community charitable component of the Oneida Nation's Turning Stone Resort Championship. The Championship was brought to Upstate New York by the Oneidas last August as the first event in the Fall Series. The nationally-televised event will put Upstate New York in the spotlight, and is expected to draw some of the world's greatest golfers, along with many thousands of spectators. The event is scheduled September 17 - 23, 2007, at the Atunyote Golf Club in Vernon, NY.

The 2007 Honorary Host Committee members, who have joined Mr. Halbritter in promoting the ability of charitable organizations to benefit from the PGA Tour event, are: <BR> <BR>• Beth Baldwin, of Syracuse; who heads the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund, Inc.; <BR> <BR>• J. Patrick Barrett, of Manlius; owner, Exec Air; member, New York State Olympic Regional Development Authority, former chief executive of AVIS; <BR> <BR>• Jim Boeheim, of Fayetteville; NCAA men's basketball national championship winner; SU head basketball coach for the last 30 seasons; and annual host of one of the highest-earning Coaches vs. Cancer events in the United States; <BR> <BR>• Juli Boeheim, of Fayetteville; who with husband Jim hosts the annual Coaches vs. Cancer event, a well-known charitable function that has earned more than $300,000 annually for the last several years; <BR> <BR>• Maurice Bordell, of Chittenango; Madison County real estate developer, former auto dealership owner; and well-known civic leader; <BR> <BR>• Charlie Constantino, of New Hartford; Executive Vice President and Director, PAR Technology Corporation, New Hartford; <BR> <BR>• Patrick Costello, of New Hartford; business manager, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers; Utica and Syracuse Chapters; <BR> <BR>• Christopher Destito, of Rome; longtime Oneida County tourism bureau and Rome Chamber of Commerce leader; co-owner of the third-generation family restaurant/catering/motel business, The Beeches/The Savoy/Paul Revere Motel; <BR> <BR>• RoAnn Destito, of Rome; eight-term New York State Democratic Assemblywoman who was first elected in 1992 to represent the 116th District including the cities of Utica and Rome; <BR> <BR>• Michael J. Falcone, of Syracuse; Chairman, The Pioneer Companies; <BR> <BR>• William Fitzpatrick, of Syracuse; Onondaga County District Attorney for the last 15 years; <BR> <BR>• Maureen Green, of Syracuse; principal anchor for the 5:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m., and 11:00 p.m. newscasts at WTVH-5 television; and an active participant in many of the region's charitable causes; <BR> <BR>• John Kinsella, of the Chittenango/Manlius area; co-owner of Kinsella Quarries of Fayetteville; <BR> <BR>• John F.X.
