second consecutive Best in Class Award
For Immediate Release
Ponte Vedra Beach, FL- The Wells Fargo Championship (Charlotte, NC ) was honored by the PGA TOUR at the TOUR's Tournament
Advisory Council (TAC) Meetings this week.
"On behalf of the PGA TOUR, I am pleased to acknowledge and congratulate the outstanding job and special recognition the
Wells Fargo Championship has received for its efforts," said PGA TOUR EVP and Chief of Operations Andy Pazder. "The tournament
committee should be extremely proud for being acknowledged as the best among its peers on TOUR".
In addition to its top-notch overall tournament presentation, the Wells Fargo Championship continued to lead the way with
new and innovative ideas. These ideas included an EZ Pay payment-plan option to assist fans while the economy continues to
recover. The tournament also added VIP photo badges for CEOs of hospitality guests as well as a flex-ticket program for hospitality
guests to bring additional guests into their venues.
"To win "Best in Class" once is an honor, but to win it two consecutive years is a tremendous tribute to the hard work and
dedication from the many people that had a hand in the success of the Wells Fargo Championship," said Kym Hougham, Wells Fargo
Championship Executive Director. "We've had a philosophy of improving the tournament experience for our patrons each year,
and we look to make further improvements going forward with the support of Wells Fargo."
The 2011 Wells Fargo Championship, captured in 2010 by Rory McIlroy, will be held May 2-8 at Quail Hollow Club.
