The Black Eyed Peas to Headline Saturday Night Concert at the 2006 84 Lumber Classic
84 Lumber Classic Tournament Office, June 19, 2006 - The Grammy Award winning Black Eyed Peas will headline the September
16th evening concert at the 2006 84 Lumber Classic, September 11-17, at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort in Farmington, Pennsylvania.
The Black Eyed Peas have transcended their vigilant hip-hop roots and have become a global phenomenon since their 2003
breakthrough album, Elephunk, fitted with loose rhymes, buoyant anthemic funk and an ebullient live spirit. The quartet-
William, Fergie, apl.de.ap, and Taboo - have sold 7.5 million albums worldwide and earned four Grammy nominations and one
Grammy award.
Formed in the late 1990s in Los Angeles, The Black Eyed Peas began to establish a worldwide following through their first
two albums, 1998's Behind The Front and 2000's Bridging The Gap. Monkey Business, their most recent album following
Elephunk's breakout single, "Where Is The Love?," includes "Don't Phunk With My Heart," a gripping soulful serenade that is
a sequel to "Shut Up," "Don't Lie" and "My Humps."
The Black Eyed Peas will perform on the Polo Field following completion of that day's tournament round. A valid tournament
pass for that day's round is required to gain admission to the "free" concert.
On Friday evening, September 15, a local favorite, The PovertyNeck Hillbillies, will perform following completion of the
day's tournament round. They will open for a national recording artist that will be announced at a later date.
Tickets to the 84 Lumber Classic are available from more than 80 local and regional charities for just $15.00 per ticket
or four for $50.00. To locate your favorite charity, visit www.84lumberclassic.com
