2009 U.S. OPEN RUNNER-UP RICKY BARNES AMONG LATEST TO COMMIT TO 2010 FRYS.COM OPEN

Ricky Barnes, the 2002 U.S. Amateur Champion, 2009 U.S. Open runner-up and 64th-ranked golfer on the Official World Golf Rankings, has committed to play in the 2010 Frys.com Open. Barnes, who is originally from Stockton, Calif., is in the midst of his best year on the PGA TOUR. He has made 16 of 19 cuts, has finished in the top-10 six times and has earned $1,704,668 placing him 22nd on the 2010 PGA TOUR money list.

Also committing to the field today are three-time PGA TOUR winner and 2008 Frys.com Open champion Cameron Beckman; five-time PGA TOUR winner Rocco Mediate and one-time PGA TOUR winner Charley Hoffman.

The list of committed players also includes a number top PGA TOUR players including the 47th ranked player on the 2010 PGA TOUR money list Brendon de Jonge; one-time PGA TOUR winner Ryuiji Imada; 16th ranked player on the 2010 PGA TOUR money list and one-time TOUR winner Bo Van Pelt and three-time PGA TOUR winner Carl Pettersson.

PGA TOUR members have until 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 8, to commit to play in the Frys.com Open. Eligible players are assigned one of 38 PGA TOUR priority rankings based on past performances on the PGA TOUR. The field will continue to change as players with better priority rankings commit to play in the Frys.com Open.
