Duval, Kaye and Jones Among Local Favorites to Participate in 20th INTERNATIONAL

CASTLE ROCK, Colo.--- The first week in August will be a homecoming of sorts for PGA Tour players who were born or reside in Colorado.  David Duval, Jonathan Kaye and Steve Jones are among the local favorites who will be playing the 20th annual presentation of The INTERNATIONAL at Castle Pines Golf Club, August 1-7, 2005.
"Golf fans in Colorado should be proud of the PGA TOUR players who were born or now live in this great state.  The list of names is quite impressive," said Executive Director Larry O. Thiel.  "It will be interesting to watch them all battle on their home turf," he added.
Duval, a resident of Cherry Hills, has become a favorite among golf fans in Colorado.  The former British Open Champion is working hard to return to the form when he was rated number one in the world.  Duval has played in every INTERNATIONAL since his first in 1995.  Over the years, he has earned 76 points and won $377,600.
This will be Kaye's eighth trip to Castle Pines.  A Denver native, Kaye grew up playing golf on the public courses in town.  He is actively involved with The First Tee of Denver and, while he's in town for The INTERNATIONAL, will make a stop at Children's Hospital to join representatives from The First Tee to put on a club making demonstration for the patients there.
With two top-ten finishes in 2005, Kaye has earned over $1 million this year and is currently ranked 40th on the Tour money list.  At The INTERNATIONAL, he has earned a total of 36 points and $46,105.
Jones, a graduate of the University of Colorado, will be back at Castle Pines for the first time since 2002.  Shortly after the Tournament, he underwent surgery to correct a heart condition and then had elbow surgery about a year later.  He had a great showing at this year's Player's Championship, leading the first round with a 64.  But his best finish was T36 at the FBR Open.  He has earned 173 points and $161,374 in 14 INTERNATIONAL appearances.
Joining the list of local favorites who will be at Castle Pines this year are Brandt Jobe and Mark Wiebe.  Jobe's best finish in 2005 was T2 at the weather-shortened BellSouth Classic.  He has earned $814, 251 so far this year.  This will be Jobe's ninth appearance at Castle Pines where he has earned 74 points and $86,105.
Wiebe is the only player to have participated in all 19 INTERNATIONALs.  He says it is likely to be his final appearance here.  Over the years, he was earned 60 points and $175,798.
