Olazabal, Love and Toms Return to Castle Pines
CASTLE ROCK, CO --- When the 20th annual INTERNATIONAL comes to town, August 1-7, 2005 past champions Jose Maria Olazabal,
Davis Love, III and David Toms will be among the star-studded field competing for a share of the $5 million purse. "Our
list of past champions reads like a who's who of golf," said Executive Director Larry O. Thiel. "They've been loyal
to us over the years and this year is no exception. We're thrilled to announce those that have already committed and
look forward to the return of all of our past champions," he added. Olazabal, who won the INTERNATIONAL in 1991,
is just off the heels of a impressive showing at the British Open. With rounds of 68-70-68-74, he looked at times like
he could overtake wire-to-wire leader Tiger Woods, but eventually finished T3. His win worth $424,909 took him
to 22nd place on the PGA TOUR Money List. He is ranked 61st in the Official World Golf Rankings. Olazabal has
played at Castle Pines twelve times over the years and has earned a total of 206 points and $543,908.
Two-time INTERNATIONAL champion Davis Love, III ('90 and '03) is currently 17th on the PGA TOUR money list.
He has posted seven top 10 finishes so far in 2005. He has finished T2 twice, at the MCI Heritage and the Booz Allen
Classic. Love has participated in 14 INTERNATIONALs. His two victories here have helped him earn a total of 265
points and $1,336,560 here. 1999 champion David Toms already has one victory under his belt this year
- the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship. He is currently ranked 4th on the PGA TOUR Money list with $3,354,663.
In ten INTERNATIONALs, Toms has earned a total of 110 points and $553,750. Other past champions who have committed
include Rich Beem, John Cook, Ernie Els, Brad Faxon, Rod Pampling, Tom Pernice, Jr. and Clarence Rose. Thiel also
