| Langer Returns to Castle Pines After 17 Years |

July 24, 2004
CASTLE ROCK, Colo. --- For the first time in 17 years, two-time Masters Champion and 2004 European Ryder Cup Captain Bernhard
Langer will return to Castle Pines Golf Club for the 2004 INTERNATIONAL, Aug. 2-8. Langer has not played in the event, which
is played under the Modified Stableford scoring system, since he finished second in 1986.
"We're really happy to welcome
Bernhard back to Colorado," said Executive Director Larry O. Thiel. "Prior commitments, both in the United States and abroad,
have kept him from returning for so many years. It will be wonderful to see him play here again," he added.
Langer
had a chance to win the inaugural INTERNATIONAL in 1986. The format that year included daily cuts, with players reverting
to 0 points each day. He survived a field of 162 starting players to be one of only 12 players to make it to Sunday's final
round. Langer challenged leader Ken Green that day with seven points after 10 holes. But a double bogey at the 11th essentially
ended the chase. He went into the 18th hole needing to eagle in order to tie Green for the lead, but it was not to be. He
finished alone in second place, winning $113,000.
Having played on 10 teams, Langer is no stranger to the European
Ryder Cup and was named 2004 Ryder Cup Captain in July of 2003. He is the first German golfer to hold the role. "It's a fabulous
honor to be named European captain. I've never made a secret of how much I enjoy being part of the Ryder Cup, and to be the
captain makes me feel very proud," he said.
Currently, Langer is 61st on the PGA TOUR Money List and 65th in Official
World Golf Rankings. His best finish in 2004 is a tie for fourth at The Masters.
