 July 3, 2003 CASTLE ROCK, CO --- 2003 Masters champion and current PGA TOUR Money Leader Mike Weir will compete in the
2003 INTERNATIONAL at Castle Pines Golf Club, the Tournament today announced.
"Mike Weir is an outstanding player and will make terrific addition to our field. Golf fans across Colorado will really
enjoy seeing him play at Castle Pines," said Executive Director Larry O. Thiel.
When Weir plays at Castle Pines, August 4-10, it will mark his fifth appearance here. The Canadian-born player participated
in years 1997- 2000 and has earned a total of 55 points and $68,050. His best finish in The INTERNATIONAL came in 2000, when
he finished T-19 and took home $47,250.
Weir has finished 1st in three TOUR events so far this year -- the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic, the Nissan Open and The Masters.
He ranks 2nd in scoring average and 3rd in putting average on the PGA TOUR.
Other players announced today include: Colorado native and Buick Classic winner, Jonathan Kaye; South African Rory Sabbatini,
who won the Kemper Open in June; Chris Riley; Canadian-born Glen Hnatiuk; Dan Forsman; Robert Damron; David Berganio, Jr.;
and Briny Baird.
