New Englanders Billy Andrade and Brett Quigley, in addition to fan favorites Joey Sindelar, Jesper Parnevik, Kirk Triplett
and Billy Mayfair join the field.
HARTFORD, Conn., June 6, 2007 - With tee time quickly approaching, the Travelers Championship player field continues to
grow stronger each day. The Travelers Championship announced today that two of New England's favorite local players, Billy
Andrade and Brett Quigley, have committed to the field. In addition, popular fan favorites Joey Sindelar, Jesper Parnevik,
Kirk Triplett and Billy Mayfair will compete, June 18-24 at TPC River Highlands.
New Englander Billy Andrade will be making his twentieth appearance at Connecticut's PGA TOUR event, having played every
year since 1988. Andrade's best showing was in 2001, when he came in second. Andrade has four PGA TOUR victories to his name.
He rounded out the 2006 season with three top-10 finishes, making his 18th consecutive year on the top-125 money list. Along
with Brad Faxon, Andrade runs the Billy Andrade/Brad Faxon Charities for Children, Inc., which was formed in 1991 and has
raised more than $7 million for children in Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts.
Also a New England fan favorite, Massachusetts native Brett Quigley, returns for his seventh appearance in Connecticut.
This year Quigley finished in the top-10 at the Wachovia Championship, where he has finished in the top-25 for three straight
years. Quigley had a career year in 2006, setting personal bests for earnings ($2,617,419) and top-10s (10). He also played
in the TOUR Championship for the first time, finishing tied for twelfth.
Joey Sindelar has kept Connecticut crowds engaged for more than two decades, returning for his twenty-fourth consecutive
appearance in Connecticut. Sindelar holds seven PGA TOUR victories. This year, his best finishes have come at the Wachovia
Championship and the U.S. Bank Championship in Milwaukee, where he tied for sixth. Sindelar finished 2006 with four top-10
finishes, including the U.S. Bank Championship and the Frys.com Open in Las Vegas, where he shot 60s in all four rounds at
both tournaments.
Joining the Travelers Championship's already strong international field, Sweden's Jesper Parnevik returns to Connecticut
for the first time since 1996. Parnevik is always a popular player to watch, known for his distinctive golf attire styled
especially for him by J. Lindeberg. Parnevik holds five PGA TOUR victories, in addition to nine international wins. In 2006,
Parnevik finished among the top 100 (No. 71) on the PGA TOUR money list for the tenth time in 13 years on TOUR.
Kirk Triplett holds three PGA TOUR victories. Last year he picked up his third career win at the Chrysler Classic of Tucson,
closing with rounds of 64-63 on the weekend. The 63 was the lowest final round posted by a winner in Tucson since Johnny Miller
won with a final-round 61 in 1975 and also matched Tiger Woods at the Deutsche Bank Championship for low finish by a winner
on TOUR in 2006. Triplett played on Australian, Asian and Canadian Tours from 1987-89, a personal experience of which he speaks
highly.
Billy Mayfair returns for his sixteenth appearance in Connecticut. Mayfair, who holds five PGA TOUR victories, has had
two top-10 finishes this year, including fifth place at the FBR Open and tied for tenth at the Wachovia Championship, his
second career top-10 at that event. Mayfair netted ten top-10s in a two-year period in 2005 and 2006.
