Flag-Adorned Arches Represent Outstanding International Field Expected to Compete June 21-27 at TPC at Avenel -- March 15, 2004

POTOMAC, Md. -- Reflecting the diversity of the nation's Capital and the exciting international playing field expected to compete this year, Booz Allen Classic officials have created Washington's newest monuments at its public entrances to welcome area golf fans attending the region's No. 1 live annual event, the Booz Allen Classic, which returns June 21-27 to the Tournament Players Club (TPC) at Avenel in Potomac, Md.

The spectacular 24-foot high international arches symbolize the new era of the region's exclusive PGA TOUR event and set the stage immediately upon arrival for a unique experience at one of the Washington area's most-highly anticipated spring events. The arches are similar to those designed for the Masters, Super Bowl and other major international events.

"We wanted to create a memorable and fitting welcome for players and fans alike to greet them when they first arrive at the Booz Allen Classic," said Ralph Shrader, chairman and chief executive officer of global consulting firm Booz Allen Hamilton Inc., the event's title sponsor.

Both main entrances to the Booz Allen Classic will feature a towering archway, with its colorful array of flags representing every nationality on the PGA TOUR and reflecting the truly international field of the world's top players expected to compete at the Booz Allen Classic. The tournament is being held this year the week following the U.S. Open.

"The arches will be positioned prominently near the TPC at Avenel entrance spanning Clubhouse Road and also at the main tournament entrance located adjacent to the new Booz Allen Classic Welcome Center," said 2004 Executive Director Scott Abell. "We encourage the public to visit our Booz Allen Classic website at www.boozallenclassic.com to see artist's renderings of our new entryway."

The 2004 Booz Allen Classic begins a new era for one of the Washington area's top professional sporting events and its title sponsor, Booz Allen Hamilton. To date, the tournament has distributed nearly $8 million to local and national charities, at a rate in recent years of approximately $500,000 annually. Beginning with the 2004 Booz Allen Classic, tournament host Washington Golf Charities, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization formed in 2003 to host the Booz Allen Classic, and Booz Allen Hamilton have committed to a goal of distributing at least $1 million annually from tournament-related proceeds exclusively to Washington, D.C. area charities.

The tournament has been operated by KemperSports since 1979.
