IRVING, Texas -- The EDS Byron Nelson Championship recently purchased 3,300 copies of "A Taste of the
TOUR" cookbooks as holiday gifts for sponsors of its 2004 Championship.
"We really want to show our support for the charitable projects of the PGA TOUR Wives Association," said Larry Nixon,
2005 tournament chairman, "As the leading charitable fundraising event on the TOUR, we fully support the TOUR's 'giving back'
philosophy. We thought this purchase would be a nice gesture to thank our sponsors while showing our support for the other
charitable works on the TOUR."
According to Selena Nobilo, board member of the PGA TOUR Wives Association, "The TOUR wives cherish the relationship
with the Salesmanship Club. We really thank them for supporting us over the years."
Since its inception, the EDS Byron Nelson Championship has raised $82 million for Salesmanship Club Youth and Family Centers,
the non-profit agency that receives all the Championship proceeds. Salesmanship Club Youth and Family Centers provides education
and mental health services for more than 2,700 children and their families in the greater Dallas area through its family therapy
centers in Oak Cliff and West Dallas, and a private laboratory school in Oak Cliff, the J. Erik Jonsson Community School.
