February 19, 2007

PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL - As part of its initiative to improve the total fan experience of attending the 2007 Honda Classic at PGA National Resort & Spa, the tournament is introducing an after-play concert series featuring varied themes and four local music groups from March 1-4.

Thursday night will feature Jazz Under The Stars with the Joe Scott Band on the concert stage inside the Heineken Terrace hospitality area. Friday night fans will Dance to the Honda Beat with Eclipse. The Irish Invade the Classic on Saturday night with a performance by LaHinch Mob. Sunday night will be Reggae Night at the Classic with the sounds of Florry Duncan and the Tropical Sons.

The food court and bar at the Heineken Terrace will remain open throughout the two-hour performances.

"We want to allow people to stay and be entertained after they have spent the afternoon watching golf," Honda Classic Executive Director Kenneth R. Kennerly said. "These after-play concerts cater to all different musical tastes and showcase some of our finest local groups."

The Joe Scott Band is a versatile ensemble which plays many venues throughout Palm Beach County. The Thursday night focus at The Honda Classic will be on jazz.

Eclipse is a five-piece band from Jupiter that plays a variety of music from Top 40 to Big Band, reggae and country.

LaHinch Mob blends traditional Irish folk music with modern day rock and utilizes an electric fiddle to create a fresh sound not commonly heard on the contemporary scene.

Florry Duncan and the Tropical Sons have been performing in Palm Beach County for 30 years. Duncan was one of the founding performers at Sunfest and Clematis by Night and is known for bringing island music to the area. The band performed at Jack Nicklaus' 60th birthday party. They will entertain the final day crowd with a mix of reggae and island music.
