| Nationwide Tour Players Cup Announces TICKETS Fore CHARITY Program |
|
March 24, 2008 BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. - The Nationwide Tour Players Cup announced today that it will launch a new program to create additional
funding for charitable organizations. The "TICKETS Fore CHARITY" program will allow charitable organizations to sell discounted
tickets to the prestigious July 7-13 golf tournament and in return receive 100 percent of the money raised from their ticket
sales.
"This internationally televised event has meant so much to the State of West Virginia, and, more importantly,
it has meant so much for our children's charities. For the tournament to give up 100 percent of their ticket revenues for
charity is such a unique and innovative gift. The sky is now the limit for charities to take advantage of this opportunity,"
Kelly Nelson, a physician at Medbrook Children's Charities.
The Players Cup, the premier in-season tournament on the
32-event Nationwide Tour, will be held at the Pete Dye Golf Club in Bridgeport, W.Va. TICKETS Fore CHARITY was created and
developed by the PGA TOUR, which operates the Nationwide Tour.
"This is a new program that has achieved great success
at other Nationwide Tour events. We hope to follow suit by creating more opportunities for our state's charitable endeavors,"
Executive Tournament Director Tim McNeely said.
TICKETS Fore CHARITY allows charitable organizations to sell discounted
tournament tickets through outreach in their communities. In addition to community-based ticket sales through the program,
spectators will be able to purchase tickets online and, in doing so, select a charity of their choice to receive the donation.
"We are ecstatic about taking advantage of this opportunity to raise money for the First Tee of Beckley. Our goal
is to sell 1,000 tickets which will then net our program $20,000. The money raised will benefit the youth of the community
through our programming." Rebecca Albin, Executive Director of the First Tee of Beckley, a southern West Virginia organization
taking advantage of TICKETS Fore CHARITY.

Companies throughout the Mountain
State are helping support the Players Cup. The Nationwide Tour chose West Virginia for the tournament following the success
in recent years of the tour's National Mining Association Pete Dye Classic, held at the Pete Dye Golf Club. This year's tournament
is significant because it offers a $1 million purse, the Nationwide Tour's largest ever.
The Players Cup will feature
a unique 144-player field based on the Nationwide Tour's money list. Nationwide Tour players will have the first 16 tournaments
of the year to secure their position among the top 144 on the money list and a spot in the field. The winner is virtually
assured of earning one of the 25 coveted PGA TOUR cards for 2009 that will be awarded at season's end to the Tour's leading
money winners.
