Pete Dye Classic Announces 2007 Junior Invitational

June 29, 2007

The inaugural Pete Dye Junior Invitational (date to be determined), in connection with the Pete Dye Classic, will take place at the Pete Dye Golf Club in Bridgeport, WV.  This event was established to recognize and showcase those junior golfers who unselfishly volunteered their time and efforts for the Pete Dye Classic.  All volunteers who work a minimum of (4) shifts will be invited to play a round of golf at the Pete Dye Golf Club any day from September 1st to October 20th.  However, junior golfers can take this opportunity to register for the Pete Dye Junior Invitational (as a substitute for volunteer golf) and compete against players their own age.

The Pete Dye Classic, which will be held from August 20 - 26, 2007, is a Nationwide Tour event that offers countless volunteer opportunities for junior golfers to "get inside the ropes action."  Potential areas of opportunity include: driving range, marshals, media room, scoreboard, scoring central, standard bearers, The Golf Channel, volunteer services, and walking scorers.  To qualify for the 2007 Pete Dye Junior Invitational you must:

Prizes will be awarded based on the low-round individual scores in each age division.  In addition to the 2007 Pete Dye Junior Invitational, Pete Dye Classic volunteers will receive:

  • Free admission for you and a friend
  • Free golf
  • Free food
  • Tournament golf shirt
  • Tournament hat
  • Collectable tournament pin
