MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - It has been announced that the winner of the Scholarship America Showdown, a new Nationwide Tour event, will also win a chance to play in the U.S. Bank Championship in Milwaukee (formerly the Greater Milwaukee Open), a PGA TOUR event.

The Scholarship America Showdown, hosted by Tom Lehman, will be held at Troy Burne Golf Club in Hudson, Wisc., July 5 - 11, 2004.

The U.S. Bank Championship in Milwaukee will be held at Brown Deer Park Golf Course, July 19 - 25. The tournament is a non-profit event that contributed over $500,000 to Milwaukee charities last year and in excess of $3.9 million since the event's move to its current site in 1994.

"For the past 36 years, our tournament has seen some of the greatest players in the game of golf. We look forward to giving another potential great player the chance to play."

"This is a wonderful opportunity for a Nationwide Tour Player to get a taste of the PGA Tour," says Kelly McDyre, tournament director for the Scholarship America Showdown. "We are grateful to the U.S. Bank Championship in Milwaukee for their generosity."
